Dr. Chen Bo is a distinguished researcher and doctoral supervisor hailing from Rizhao, Shandong. He holds the position of Director at the Digital Finance Research Center of Central University of Finance and Economics (CUFE). Dr. Chen is a Ph.D. in Economics with dual master's degrees in Engineering and Science, and he is also a Chevening Scholar from the UK.
His primary research interests encompass FinTech, artificial intelligence and large models, as well as green and carbon finance. He is actively involved in various social roles, including serving as an expert reviewer for the Ministry of Finance's PPP projects, a member of the Shenzhen Financial Standards Technical Committee, a senior expert at the Beijing Finance Research Base, an executive member of the Open Source Development Committee of the China Computer Federation (CCF), and the head of the Data Assetization Working Group at the Open Islands open-source community. Internationally, he leads the Chinese side of the Sustainable Digital Finance Network, is a member of the UN/CEFACT Traceability and Tracing Standards Working Group, and is an expert reviewer for Baidu Baike's top-tier entries. He has also held positions such as Deputy Director of the Greater Bay Area International FinTech Lab, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen FinTech Association, and Chief Expert for Education and Training at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's Open Source Foundation.
Dr. Chen's academic achievements are impressive, with his leadership in four national and ministerial research projects, three horizontal projects, five international cooperation projects, and over twenty horizontal projects. His policy recommendations and research outcomes have been recognized and adopted at the provincial level by various government bodies. He has authored two books, edited one textbook, and published over twenty articles in both domestic and international academic journals, including in SSCI, SCI, CSSCI, and EI. His work has been cited extensively, with one paper being recognized as an ESI highly cited paper and another with over 122 citations in WOS. He holds multiple national invention patents and software copyrights and serves as a reviewer and editor for several international journals.
In terms of technological achievements, Dr. Chen has extensive industry experience and R&D capabilities in carbon neutrality and artificial intelligence. He has worked with the National Development and Reform Commission's Energy Research Institute, the Climate Department, and the SK Energy Group in South Korea, focusing on clean development mechanism projects and carbon market policy formulation. He is a graduate of the UK's inaugural Carbon Finance Master's program, supported by a full scholarship from the UK government. He has developed the "Content-Enhanced Knowledge Slot Technology" based on Large Language Models (LLM) and has applied the "Longma Shujuan" large model in institutions such as the Qingdao Customs and the Guizhou Data Exchange. As the Chief Scientist at a leading FinTech company, he has provided technical services in system architecture, data compliance, model design, and business optimization to various tech firms. He has also led the development of a carbon emission prediction analysis system, supporting the digitalization of carbon neutrality initiatives for companies like State Grid, Datang, and Huaneng.
Dr. Chen has served clients such as the World Bank, African Climate Fund, Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI), Sustainable Digital Finance Alliance, UNDP, Paulson Institute, and various government agencies and financial institutions in China. His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from Renmin University of China, an MSc in Carbon Finance from the University of Edinburgh as a Chevening Scholar, an MSc in Control Science and Engineering from Zhejiang University, and a BSc in Control Science and Engineering from Shandong University.
Dr. Chen is currently recruiting doctoral students and full-time postdoctoral researchers, with a preference for students with programming skills and a foundation in AI, focusing on the intersection of artificial intelligence and green finance.
